This little number about In.Light.In was just published in the RUSM Connections newsletter.  It's so exciting for In.Light.In to get a little PR!

Update on the Holiday Food Drive

Thank you so much to everyone that has donated to the Holiday Food Drive!

We have been blessed with an overwhelming response of donations, and this has allowed  us to double the number of families we will be helping this holiday season!!

At this time, donations for the food drive are closed. We will gladly accept any donations to In Light In, but new donations will be placed in our general fund - to go towards craft supplies, food supplies, and transportation fees to use in the upcoming semesters.

Thank you all for your generous support of In Light In! We will update you again shortly, as we will be completing the food drive this weekend!

Holiday Food Drive

We are having a holiday food drive for the families of InLightIn. Many of the children look forward to the mac and cheese we provide every Friday, many take second helpings, and even some take food home to feed their brothers and sisters. With the semester coming to an end, and the holidays quickly approaching, it would be a blessing to be able to ease the burden on these families during this special time of year. Please consider giving a monetary donation to help buy groceries for these families. Donations will be accepted via Paypal on the InLightIn blog page or in person. All donations are greatly appreciated!

Silver Dust!

Do you know what silver dust is?

It's Dominican for glitter!  Isn't that great?!?

We've been having tons of fun with the kids {and silver dust!} at In.Light.In lately.  There's enough silver dust forever engrained in our meeting spot to prove it!

Here's what we've been up to:

Obviously, having fun with silver dust...

Making masks...

Enjoying time with the kids and special guest volunteers, our student spouses, who were able to make it to In.Light.In right after their minis...

Good times out on the field...

Making TP tube critters...

{A penguin's not complete without a bow tie!}

A bittersweet surprise: marbles from Bernie at his last In.Light.In...

Enjoying our favorite Friday afternoon snack with friends...

Just hanging out...

And enjoying a well-earned nap after a wonderful Friday afternoon in the park!

See you next week!

Happy Friday!

We're gearing up for another great InLightIn this afternoon!  The drums last week = a HUGE hit!

Many of the kids were still in their national dress from school that day and they looked amazing!

Because it was a big day {the Friday before Independence Day} the kids wanted to say the National Anthem as well as the Shema before snack... LOVE their national pride!!!

Our numbers {of kids} are growing even more, which is so exciting.

Last week, a group of 5 young girls marched up the stairs and introduced themselves to us:

"Hi, I'm Unique and these are my friends.  We're new here.  Can we play?"

We gladly welcomed Unique and her friends.  They loved making the drums and enjoyed their afternoon...  Some new regulars, perhaps?

One of our awesome new leaders, Natalie, has been bringing hula hoops to InLightIn.  Needless to say, the kids can't get enough of them!

This week we'll be making masks and enjoying the sunshine in the park... Can't wait!!!  Bonus:  It's a mini day so we'll have some student spouses out with us to enjoy the fun!
